Chelsea striker ready to fight for his future

With Nicolas Jackson joining Senegal for the AFCON, Chelsea are looking for a new striker to solve their long-standing problems in front of goal.

Armando Broja, who has been at Chelsea since 2009, is one of the options. The 22-year-old has made 56 appearances in the top flight for Chelsea and Southampton, but he has struggled with injuries, form and consistency.

Broja injured his knee in a friendly against Aston Villa last season and has not recaptured his best level. This season, he has only started five games out of 14 in all competitions, scoring a goal every 377 minutes.

Broja will have more chances to play while Jackson is away, but he will have to improve his scoring rate to secure a place in the first team.

Mauricio Pochettino confirmed in his press conference on Friday that Broja will start against Preston North End in the FA Cup third round.

Is this the start of a new era for the Albanian striker?
