Blues End Season on a High Note

Chelsea secured their spot in European football for next season with a solid 2-1 victory over Bournemouth at home. While it’s still unclear whether they’ll be competing in the Europa League or the Europa Conference League, Chelsea did their part with goals from Moises Caicedo and Raheem Sterling. Bournemouth’s lone goal came from Enes Unal.

This sixth-place finish is a significant improvement from last season, where the Blues ended up in 12th place.

Chelsea vs Bournemouth Player Ratings

Djordje Petrovic – 7
Handled Marcus Tavernier’s first-half strike well. Couldn’t do much about Unal’s deflected goal but was excellent late in the game as Chelsea held on.

Trevoh Chalobah – 7
Performed well at right-back and made a crucial block to prevent a Tavernier goal.

Thiago Silva – 7
Calm and composed in his final game for Chelsea. Leaves with a legacy as one of the club’s modern greats.

Benoit Badiashile – 6
Made key aerial clearances but could have done more to prevent Unal’s second-half goal.

Marc Cucurella – 7
Impressive performance at left-back, especially with Ben Chilwell injured.

Moises Caicedo – 8
Scored an amazing goal from the halfway line and was everywhere on the pitch.

Conor Gallagher – 7
Worked hard and covered a lot of ground as usual.

Noni Madueke – 8
Outstanding with the ball and Chelsea’s most dangerous attacker. Unlucky to be substituted.

Cole Palmer – 7
Energetic throughout and received his Premier League young player of the season award before the match. Great season for the 22-year-old.

Raheem Sterling – 7
Scored a nice goal in the second half, showing his quality again after scoring last weekend.

Nicolas Jackson – 6
Less noticeable than some teammates but had good moments moving the ball forward.

Substitutes

Christopher Nkunku (Sterling, 63’) – 5
Didn’t have much time to make an impact and missed a late chance. Could be important next season if he stays fit.

Malo Gusto (Madueke, 64’) – 6
Handled some sloppy passes from teammates well.

Lesley Ugochukwu (Caicedo, 64’) – 5
Stayed composed after coming on.

Cesare Casadei (Palmer, 88’) – N/A
Not used long enough to rate.

Not used: Bettinelli, Disasi, Chukwuemeka, Colwill, Gilchrist
