Joe Cole thinks Cole Palmer is a special kind of player who should definitely play for England this summer.
Palmer did something amazing in the game against Everton on Monday. He scored three goals in a row: one with his right foot, one with his left foot, and one with his head. Later, he scored another goal from a penalty kick. And now, he’s scored as many goals as Erling Haaland, who’s a really famous player.
Because of Palmer’s goals, Chelsea is now very close to Newcastle and Manchester United in the competition to play in Europe.
Joe Cole, who used to play for Chelsea, thinks Palmer is a great player for the team. He says Palmer is a bit like the old-school players who were really talented and confident. Even after scoring so many goals, Palmer acts like it’s no big deal. He’s just really relaxed and cool on the field. Joe Cole thinks that’s amazing.
Palmer is really good at deciding what to do with the ball. He can make passes that help his team a lot. But what’s most impressive is his mindset. He always seems like he’s going to win.
Palmer has played for England twice before, but he couldn’t play in March because he got injured. Even though he wasn’t a top choice for England before, now he has a really good chance to play in the Euro 2024 tournament.
Joe Cole believes Palmer might not start every game in the tournament, but he could come off the bench and make a big difference. There are already some really good players in the team, like Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden. But Palmer is also really talented, and Joe Cole thinks he deserves to be there.
