Cole Palmer Praises Pochettino After Chelsea Departure

Cole Palmer has shown his appreciation for Mauricio Pochettino after it was announced that the Argentine manager is leaving Chelsea.

On Tuesday evening, Chelsea confirmed they had mutually agreed to part ways with Pochettino, ending his tenure a year into his two-year contract. Despite the amicable split, it was clear that there were significant differences in vision between Pochettino and the club’s management.

Chelsea’s leaders also believed that Pochettino should have achieved a higher finish in the Premier League than sixth place. The club will participate in European football next season, but which competition they’ll join depends on the outcome of the upcoming FA Cup final. If Manchester City wins, Chelsea will enter the Europa League. If Manchester United wins, Chelsea will play in the Conference League.

During a challenging season for Chelsea, Cole Palmer has been a standout player. When the club signed the 22-year-old for £45 million from Manchester City in August, some were skeptical. However, Palmer has proved his worth. He won both the club’s Men’s Player of the Year Award and the Player’s Player of the Year Award. Additionally, he was named the Premier League’s Young Player of the Year, scoring 22 goals and providing 11 assists in 34 appearances.

After hearing about Pochettino’s departure, Palmer expressed his gratitude on Instagram: “Gaffer, thank you for everything you have done for me & making my dreams come true. All the best.”

Looking ahead, sources suggest that Manchester United and Bayern Munich are interested in Pochettino. Meanwhile, Stuttgart boss Sebastian Hoeness has joined Ruben Amorim and Kieran McKenna on Chelsea’s shortlist of potential new managers.
