Popular Chelsea Duo Likely to Leave Before June 30

Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah, two beloved players in the Chelsea dressing room, might be leaving the club soon, following the departure of manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Pochettino was a strong advocate for keeping Gallagher and Chalobah, but with his exit by mutual consent on Tuesday, the chances of them staying have decreased. The Chelsea management is now more open to listening to offers for these homegrown talents.

The Chelsea squad is worried about losing Gallagher and Chalobah, who are known for their hard work and professionalism. Gallagher, a dedicated Chelsea fan, is entering the final year of his contract and has expressed a desire to remain at the club. Under Pochettino, he became a key player, often filling in as captain when Reece James was unavailable.

Chalobah, despite a season marred by injuries, finished strong, showcasing his fitness and proving his worth in the Premier League. With four years left on his contract, he also wishes to stay at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham has shown long-term interest in Gallagher, but Chelsea’s £50 million valuation might be a stumbling block. Fulham is among the clubs interested in Chalobah, especially as they prepare for the likely departure of Tosin Adarabioyo. However, Chalobah prefers a move to a club competing in European football.

Since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital took over Chelsea in May 2022, the club has spent over £1 billion on new players and recouped £400 million through sales. As the June 30 deadline for the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules approaches, Chelsea remains confident in their financial compliance, insisting that their actions are not driven by these regulations.
