Chelsea’s Goalkeeper Hunt

Chelsea, also known as the Blues, are rumored to be interested in Filip Jorgensen, the goalkeeper from Villarreal. Jorgensen thinks the rumors are pretty cool and take it as a compliment.

With a new coach, Enzo Maresca, who used to manage Leicester City, Chelsea is looking to bring in a fresh face for the goalpost. Maresca just signed up for five years and will have a say in who joins the team, but he won’t be the boss of picking players.

Chelsea is eyeing James Trafford from Burnley, but they’ve also chatted with Jorgensen’s people about him possibly joining. Jorgensen, 22, grew up playing for Villarreal and has represented Denmark’s under-21 team, even though he was born in Sweden.

Last season, Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic each had a turn as Chelsea’s main goalie while Mauricio Pochettino was in charge. But now, Chelsea is thinking about adding another goalkeeper to the mix.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, another Chelsea goalie, played for Real Madrid on loan last season. Even though Real Madrid won the Champions League, they probably won’t keep Kepa around. Thibaut Courtois, who left Chelsea for Real Madrid in 2018, is back in action after an injury. Andriy Lunin from Ukraine also did a great job as Courtois’ backup.

Jorgensen told the magazine Tipsbladet that he’s just focusing on getting better every day. He doesn’t have a set plan for his future, but if a great opportunity comes up, he’s open to talking about it and figuring out what’s best for him and Villarreal.

Meanwhile, Chelsea is close to signing their first new player for the summer. Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham is getting ready for a medical check-up before he moves, which is a free transfer. Chelsea managed to snag him before Newcastle could.
