Only five of Arsenal’s league games this season have seen Kieran Tierney as Starting XI

According to reports, Aston Villa intends to compete with Newcastle United for the services of Kieran Tierney, a quality player for Arsenal.

Due to Mikel Arteta’s preference for Oleksandr Zinchenko in that position, Tierney has been long linked to leaving Arsenal. The left-back is currently playing with little game time.

Although the Scotland international has only started five Premier League games this season, the Gunners want to keep him around as they prepare for the demands of Champions League competition the next season.

According to The Telegraph, Villa have entered the race to sign the 25-year-old player, who has long been linked with a move to Newcastle. Unai Emery is eager to work with the man he brought to the Emirates, and Villa have long been a contender.

Tierney was acquired by Emery from Celtic in the summer of 2019 for £25 million, although he saw action on the field just nine times before Arteta took over as manager and Emery was fired.

The Spaniard has done an outstanding job since arriving at Villa Park last November to replace Steven Gerrard, propelling the Villans up the table from relegation battlers to a side that could be playing in Europe next season.

Although Alex Moreno has performed well since joining the team in January, the left-back position might use an improvement as Ashley Young will turn 38 in the summer and Lucas Digne is not a fan. The club’s wealthy owners intend to support their manager heavily in the summer.

It was reported on Thursday that Villa were also prepared to rival Arsenal for the signing of former Manchester City star Ferran Torres, with Barcelona willing to sell the forward to facilitate Lionel Messi’s return to the Camp Nou.

In addition to the news, the Telegraph also claim that Villa are interested in Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, a former transfer target for the Gunners.

With Barcelona willing to trade the forward to make room for Lionel Messi’s return to the Camp Nou, it was reported on Thursday that Villa was also prepared to compete with Arsenal for the acquisition of the former Manchester City player Ferran Torres.

The Telegraph also reports that Villa are interested in Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, a player who was once a transfer target for the Arsenal.

Last season, especially when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left, the Serbian international was connected to the north London team. However, he chose to sign with the Serie A giants from Fiorentina in a deal worth an initial £58 million.

Vlahovic has scored 12 goals in 37 games so far this season, but Juventus is having financial issues and may want to trade him this summer.
