Cucurella Urges Chelsea to Give Maresca Time and Stability

Marc Cucurella is calling on Chelsea’s management to provide some much-needed stability at Stamford Bridge by giving head coach Enzo Maresca the time to succeed.

The past few years at Chelsea have been turbulent, especially since the club’s takeover by Todd Boehly’s consortium, which spent over £1 billion on transfers. Despite that, consistency has been hard to find.

Graham Potter was hired but let go just seven months into his five-year contract. Mauricio Pochettino followed, leading Chelsea to a strong finish in sixth place, securing European football, only to leave after one season by mutual agreement.

Now, it’s Maresca’s turn to take the reins. After three Premier League games, Chelsea has earned just four points, raising questions about how the season might unfold.

However, Cucurella believes Maresca is the right person for the job if the club’s leadership shows patience.

“I think the coach we have, Enzo Maresca, is very good. He has clear ideas,” Cucurella told EFE. “We’ve had a lot of coaching changes in recent years. We need stability. We have a lot of high-level players, but for things to go well, we need patience and calm, so the coach can really implement his vision.”

Cucurella hopes this time, both players and coaches can work together without constant changes, allowing Chelsea to achieve something important.
