How Chelsea must overhaul squad: Keep Raheem Sterling; loan Romeo Lavia; st*uck with Mykhailo Mudryk

Chelsea are getting ready for a lot of changes this summer.

The boss, Mauricio Pochettino, might not be sticking around for long after the team lost in the Carabao Cup Final to Liverpool. Gary Neville has called the squad “billion-pound bottle jobs,” saying they don’t perform when it counts.

There’s talk that Chelsea need to find about £100 million by June 30 to avoid money problems. Chelsea says that’s not true, but if they don’t qualify for Europe, they’ll have less money to spend.

To raise cash, Chelsea will sell some players who are currently on loan. They’ll get £28 million from Newcastle for Lewis Hall, and they could get over £35 million for Romelu Lukaku if they sell him to Saudi Arabia. They also put a £35 million price tag on Ian Maatsen when they loaned him to Borussia Dortmund, hoping someone will buy him. Armando Broja will also be sold after his loan at Fulham ends.

Let’s see who Chelsea should keep, sell, or might have to keep because they’ve signed them on big contracts.
