Enzo Maresca is thrilled to start his new role as Chelsea’s head coach and is eager to kick off the pre-season. He’s the latest manager to join the team under the ownership of Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

After leaving Leicester City with a £10 million deal, Maresca is grateful for the smooth negotiation process. He’s set to begin his Chelsea journey on July 1st.

Already, Maresca is planning strategies to show the Chelsea team that he’s got the right approach to win. As a former player with teams like West Brom, Juventus, and Sevilla, and having worked with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, he’s ready to bring his experience to the table.

He’s so excited about the move that he’s shared with friends his wish that pre-season could start right now. During his interview with Chelsea, he expressed admiration for the current team and is now eager to share his tactical plans with them.

Maresca even paused his family vacation to discuss the opportunity with Chelsea, ultimately securing the position over other candidates like Kieran McKenna, Roberto De Zerbi, and Thomas Frank.

Mauricio Pochettino parted ways with Chelsea on May 21st after leading the team to a sixth-place finish last season. Despite differing views with the club’s leadership on future directions, Chelsea is now fully supporting Maresca to usher in a new chapter for the team.
