Chelsea’s newest signing, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, is thrilled about reuniting with his former Leicester boss, Enzo Maresca, at Stamford Bridge. The Blues completed a swift £30 million transfer for Dewsbury-Hall from the Championship-winning Leicester City.

The 25-year-old midfielder joins Chelsea during a busy transfer window, which has already seen the club sign ex-Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo, Palmeiras winger Estevao Willian, and young talents Omari Kellyman and Marc Guiu from Aston Villa and Barcelona respectively.

Dewsbury-Hall is confident in Maresca’s abilities, having experienced success under his management at Leicester. Last season, he scored 12 goals and provided 15 assists in 49 appearances, helping Leicester win the Championship and secure a return to the Premier League.

“I’ve been very vocal about my admiration for our new head coach,” Dewsbury-Hall said on Chelsea’s official website. “He’s fantastic and top-notch. He completely transformed our playing style at Leicester last season, and it worked. I loved the way we played under him, and so did the rest of the team.”

Dewsbury-Hall believes Maresca will bring the same positive changes to Chelsea. “I’m confident he will implement his style here, and the team will embrace it and enjoy it. With more time, it will become second nature, and that will be great for the club.”

His move to Chelsea ends a 17-year journey with Leicester, where he made 129 appearances after progressing through their youth ranks and spending loan spells at Blackpool and Luton. Reflecting on his time at Leicester, Dewsbury-Hall shared his thoughts on Instagram.

“What a journey it’s been – 17 years of my life devoted to this club and it’s been a pleasure. I’ve loved every minute of my time here and created some unforgettable memories and friendships,” he wrote. “When we were relegated in the 2022-23 season, I felt responsible. I made it my goal to get us back to the Premier League in the first season because I know how tough it can be for a club if it doesn’t happen.”

“I’m very proud of what we achieved last season – creating lifelong memories for all of us and hopefully making up for the disappointment of relegation.
