Jude Bellingham will soon be Real Madrid Player

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Jude Bellingham will join Real Madrid for an £88.5 million fee when the transfer window opens next month.

The Bundesliga runners-up have also announced Madrid could pay a further £26.5 million in performance-related add-ons for the 19 year-old midfielder.

Bellingham, who joined the club from Birmingham for an initial fee of £25 million back in 2020, will move to Los Blancos in the second most expensive deal involving an English player in football history.

But who are the other English players who have commanded the biggest price tags in the beautiful game?

Here is everything you need to know.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – £50 million

Wan-Bissaka’s superb breakthrough season at Crystal Palace saw him rewarded with a £50 million move to Manchester United in June 2019.

At United, Wan-Bissaka has had a mixed career.

His future performances have occasionally been questioned by media analysts, despite the fact that he has received plaudits for his exceptional defensive skills.

Having played only 19 times in the league and facing competition from Diogo Dalot, his future at Old Trafford is somewhat in doubt.

Ben White – £50 million

After playing for the Seagulls for just one season in the Premier League, White was welcomed to the Emirates in a £50 million transfer from Brighton in July 2021.

The 25-year-old started all 38 of Arsenal’s league games that season and was crucial to the Gunners’ attempt to win the league.

Mikel Arteta has greatly benefited from White’s versatility because he can play both right back and center back with ease.

Jadon Sancho – £73 million

Sancho hasn’t yet accomplished what he is at Manchester to do

Sancho’s form has been so bad that Gareth Southgate even left him off the England World Cup roster for Qatar.

Sancho’s time at United has been hampered by issues with his physical and emotional well-being, and manager Erik ten Hag recently sent the 23-year-old on an individual training camp in an effort to bring out the best in him.

Harry Maguire – £80 million

Maguire moved from Leicester to Manchester United in August 2019 for a defender transfer record cost of £80 million.

However, despite a few promising showings early in his Old Trafford tenure, Maguire has mostly fallen short of the high expectations set by his hefty price tag.

Under ten Hag, Maguire has slipped down the lineup, making only 16 starts across all competitions in 2022–23. This has sparked rumors that he will leave the club, with Tottenham reportedly being one among his pursuers.

Jack Grealish – £100 million

Grealish joined Manchester City in the first £100 million plus transaction in Premier League history after leaving his childhood club Aston Villa, where he had played since he was six.

Grealish has shone awesome display at the Etihad

The England international struggled to acclimatize to Pep Guardiola’s demanding tactical demands, which delayed his adjustment to life in Manchester.

Grealish has, however, really found his footing this season and has been instrumental in City’s ongoing quest to complete a historic treble.
