Napoli’s winger, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, has become one of Europe’s most in-demand players thanks to his impressive performances for both his club and his country.

This summer, Chelsea and Liverpool are gearing up for a tough competition to try and lure Kvaratskhelia away from Napoli. They’re not alone in this pursuit; Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester City are also interested in signing him. Over the past few seasons, Kvaratskhelia has become a hot commodity in European football.

Currently, he’s further boosting his reputation at Euro 2024. On Wednesday night in Gelsenkirchen, he scored an early goal that helped Georgia achieve a surprising 2-0 victory over Portugal, the winners of Group F. This win has set up a big last-16 match against Spain in Cologne on Sunday evening.

Kvaratskhelia’s agent has mentioned that the player wants to move this summer, but Napoli has been firm about keeping him. He’s under contract with them until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Before Georgia’s game against Spain, Kvaratskhelia stated that he would decide on his club future after the Euros. “I respect [new Napoli boss Antonio] Conte, he’s one of the best managers,” he said. “I also respect and love Napoli. I will decide my future after the Euros. Right now, I’m focused on the game against Spain.”

Antonio Conte, Napoli’s new head coach, made it clear before the Portugal-Georgia game that he wants Kvaratskhelia to stay. Speaking at his first official press conference since joining Napoli on a three-year deal in June, he said, “He’ll stay. I feel no doubts. There’s no need to question it. I’ve been very clear about this. Our president has confirmed it too. Kvaratskhelia is a rare talent, and we don’t want to lose him. He’s incredibly strong, like [Giovanni] Di Lorenzo.”

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis also emphasized that there are no issues with Kvaratskhelia and that they’re preparing to offer him a new contract. However, he admitted that they can’t stop other clubs from talking to the player. “We have a contract with Kvara, so there are no problems. We’ll propose a new deal, so I don’t foresee any issues. That being said, other clubs can still approach players without the club’s permission.
