Maatsen speaks out ahead of Dortmund loan

Chelsea have extended Ian Maatsen’s contract until 2026 and loaned him to Borussia Dortmund for the rest of the season.
Maatsen shared his excitement about joining Dortmund on their website and had a message for the Dortmund fans.
He said, “Borussia Dortmund have shown a lot of interest in me. I have been a fan of BVB and their supporters for a long time, and I even went to the Champions League match in Manchester in fall 2022 to watch the team play live.”
Maatsen concluded by saying, “I am very glad that the loan deal has gone through. I pledge that I will do my best for the team’s success and I can’t wait to see the Yellow Wall.”
The number 22 jersey at Signal Iduna Park will belong to the Dutch fullback. The Bundesliga second-placed team will take on Darmstadt 98 on Saturday night.
