Mauricio Pochettino hints at new Chelsea ‘strategy’ for summer transfer market

Mauricio Pochettino, the coach of Chelsea, is thinking about bringing in more experienced players this summer. He wasn’t happy with how his team played in their recent game against Sheffield United. They gave away their lead twice and ended up with a draw. Pochettino thinks the players need to grow up a bit and be more mature.

But now, he’s changed his mind a bit. He knows he needs to be more positive and careful when he talks about his team. Chelsea still has a chance to get into either the Europa League or Conference League. Before Chelsea played against Everton, Pochettino said they might need some older, more experienced players next season.

He said, “We’ve been focusing on signing young players, but we also have some older ones like Thiago Silva, Raheem Sterling, and Marcus Bettinelli. Marcus doesn’t play much, but he helps the younger players a lot. Having experienced players around can be really good for the team.”

Chelsea has one of the youngest squads in the Premier League, but they might lose their oldest player, Thiago Silva, who’s 39, in the summer.

Pochettino has been struggling because many of his players are injured. He thinks there need to be some honest talks after the season ends. They’ll discuss things like why so many players got injured, if it might happen again, and how they can prevent it.

He said, “We need to figure out why players got injured and how likely it is to happen again. This season’s been tough, but it’s taught us a lot. We’ll talk with the club and decide what to do next season. We want to be competitive and aim for big things.”
