Pete Alonso, the star player for the New York Mets, is looking forward to their games against the Philadelphia Phillies in London. He’s a big fan of soccer legend Didier Drogba and hopes to bring the same energy to his baseball games.

Pete Alonso fell in love with Chelsea football club because of Drogba’s performance in the 2006 World Cup. Although he tried playing soccer as a kid, baseball was where he shined. Now, he’s a top player for the Mets.

Alonso admires Drogba’s powerful and passionate playing style, which he tries to emulate on the baseball field. He recalls Drogba’s amazing play in the 2012 Champions League final as his most memorable moment.

While in London, Alonso won’t have time to watch a Chelsea game, but he’s excited to see famous sights like Buckingham Palace and try some classic British food.

The Mets haven’t had the best season, with more losses than wins, and they’ve struggled against the Phillies before. But Alonso remains optimistic. He believes that as the season progresses, they’ll start winning more.

The Mets are set to face the Phillies, who are leading their division, in the MLB World Tour: London Series 2024 on June 8-9 at London Stadium. Fans can grab their tickets online.
