Moises Caicedo could be signed by the Gooners this summer

According to reports, Moises Caicedo and Arsenal have “agreed personal terms,” but Chelsea is still trying to sabotage the transaction.

In the January transfer window, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta authorized a club record bid of almost £70 million for Caicedo, but a deal did not materialize.

Even after the Ecuadorian international made it known that he wanted to leave, Brighton refused to sell the player, and despite their wish to keep him this summer, they will let him go if the proper offer comes in.

According to recent sources, Arsenal has now ‘arranged personal terms’ with the youngster and is still interested in signing him before the 2023–24 season.

Brighton wants to pay at least £80 million for the 21-year-old, and the Gunners still need to discuss a cost with them.

Caicedo is scheduled to speak with the west London club in the coming days to hear more about Mauricio Pochettino’s proposal, and Chelsea are still in the running to recruit him. The Blues are apparently willing to pay Brighton more than Arsenal.

However, Caicedo is eager to compete in the Champions League since that Chelsea will not be competing in Europe next season, and it is believed that joining Arsenal is his top choice.

Caicedo’s agent Manuel Sierra recently hailed Arsenal as a ‘great club’.

‘Arsenal is a great team for everyone; let’s see what happens in the summer, there are many clubs keen on Moises,’ he told Arsenalinformer. ‘Moises has four years left on his contract. He’s having an incredible season, so it’s normal that there are many clubs interested in him.

‘There aren’t many other midfielders so young and talented around Europe. I believe he can really improve in every aspect of the game. He can slot into any [team] as he is ready for it all. His dream is to play in the Champions League and to reach as far as he can in football.’
