Palace Boss’s Shocking Claim About Chelsea’s Penalty: The Truth Revealed

After Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 2-1, both managers shared their opinions on a penalty decision that was initially doubtful. Roy Hodgson, the Crystal Palace manager, was not happy with it.

He said to Prime Video, via Ben Jacobs, “As coaches, we have to deal with two referees these days. The one on the pitch has less influence than the one in the studio… We lost 2-1 because of a disputed penalty in the last few minutes, when we were just as likely to score the winner as Chelsea.”

However, this seems contradictory, as Crystal Palace also benefited from the referee ‘in the studio’ earlier, when Jackson was ruled offside. Madueke and Chelsea did not mind, as they moved up to 10th place in the Premier League halfway through the season.

Chelsea’s next game is an early start against Luton Town, who they beat 3-0 at Stamford Bridge before.
