Pochettino explains who could take Chelsea penalties behind Palmer

Mauricio Pochettino says he’s got other players who can take penalties if Cole Palmer can’t play against Arsenal. Palmer, who’s 21, might not be able to play because he was sick and missed practice on Monday.

Palmer has scored a lot this season, tying with Erling Haaland from Manchester City for the most goals. He’s also been perfect with his penalty kicks. But because of a disagreement over who should take a penalty in the last game, Pochettino has to decide who will take them this time.

He mentioned a few players who could step up, like Noni Madueke, Gallagher, Fernandez, or even Jackson, but he hasn’t made a final decision yet. He also mentioned Mudryk as an option.

All those players have scored penalties before, but Raheem Sterling missed one recently.

Pochettino was asked if they might bring in Romelu Lukaku from Roma, especially since Chelsea doesn’t have much money to spend. He said Lukaku wanted to leave in the summer, and since he’s not with the team anymore, there’s no point talking about it until something happens.
