Mauricio Pochettino will have a meeting with Chelsea’s owners and co-sporting directors this week. They will talk about how much money the club can spend on new players in the summer. This is because Chelsea lost £90 million.

Pochettino is feeling pressure because Chelsea is not doing well in 11th place. But he says he will be part of the talk about making the team better.

On Thursday, Chelsea said they lost £90.1 million before taxes from June 2022 to June 2023. This was the first year with Todd Boehly and Behdad Egbali as co-owners.

The club has already spent more than £1 billion on players since the new owners came in.

When asked on Thursday about Chelsea’s plan for the summer, Pochettino, who is 52, said, “I don’t know yet. I haven’t been told. We haven’t talked about it until now.”

“The club just announced the money situation today. Maybe this afternoon or tomorrow we will discuss it. Then I will know. But right now, I have no idea what will happen.”

Pochettino hasn’t talked to the owners or the sporting director yet. So, he can’t say what he thinks about it.

Chelsea’s £90.1 million loss is just a small part of the £653 million loss from BlueCo, Chelsea’s parent company. This was from March 2022 to June 2023.

BlueCo owns all of Chelsea and also a team in France called Strasbourg.
