After a frustrating night at The Riverside Stadium, Pochettino shared his thoughts with the club media following the loss.

He said there was still hope as the tie was only halfway done and with a packed Stamford Bridge anything was possible. He admitted that Chelsea looked very weak from a fan’s perspective, but they still had a chance to reach the final.

Pochettino said, “We were in control, I think we played better but sometimes this kind of game, in cups can happen.”

He added, “There are many explanations but I think we played better but when you don’t score it’s hard to win.” The boss concluded by saying, “We will fight to be in the final.”

Pochettino also confirmed that Malo Gusto was taken off as a safety measure.
