Postecoglou alarm bells ring as Spurs self-destruct in Chelsea loss

Tottenham hasn’t been doing so great this season, especially in their recent game against Chelsea. Even though they’ve had some tough losses before, this one stands out as the worst under their coach Ange Postecoglou.

Before the match, Postecoglou admitted that most of his team still doesn’t fully believe in his way of playing. And that lack of belief showed on the field. They didn’t play like they were supposed to.

They let in two goals from set pieces, which is becoming a big problem for them. Postecoglou was visibly frustrated, yelling at his players to play more aggressively.

Except for one player, Cristian Romero, the team didn’t show the energy and quick thinking they had earlier in the season. Instead, they seemed tired and made too many mistakes.

Postecoglou knows he needs to turn things around quickly. Since a good win in March, they’ve only gotten a few points in their games. Now, they’re facing doubts about whether they can get back on track, especially with a tough game against Liverpool coming up.

Postecoglou has already tried changing the lineup, but it didn’t work out. And with limited options left, he’s running out of ideas.

Losing to Chelsea was even harder because they’re Tottenham’s rivals. And it’s a reminder that Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham’s former coach, knows how to beat them.

Chelsea played well despite missing many key players. They were organized and played with the kind of spirit that Pochettino used to bring to Tottenham.

Chelsea scored their goals in similar ways to how Arsenal did in the previous game, taking advantage of Tottenham’s weaknesses.

With some injured players coming back, Pochettino can look forward to the rest of the season with hope. But for Tottenham, their chances of finishing in the top four seem slim.

Postecoglou probably wishes the season was over already so he could start rebuilding the team.
