Chelsea face a tough challenge at Stamford Bridge in a fortnight as they lose the first leg to Middlesbrough.

A goal from Hayden Hackney in the first half gave the hosts an advantage for the second leg.

Here are the quick fire player ratings from Tuesday’s loss by sportrivia247.

Petrovic: 6/10- Had a quiet night except for conceding the goal.

Gusto: 6/10- Did little to impress, looked shaky at times. Subbed off later in the game, probably due to fatigue from Pochettino’s heavy workload.

Disasi: 6.5/10- Had little to do except for a Colwill error in the first minute. Could have given away a penalty if VAR was involved.

Thiago Silva: 6.5/10- It’s heartbreaking to see him surrounded by mediocrity. He was the only leader, he could have done better on the goal but it should have never reached the box. This club will suffer if he leaves, he doesn’t have to play but you need his experience.

Colwill: 2/10- Possibly his worst game in a Chelsea shirt, which is unfortunate. Out of position, which partly explains his poor performance, but he got a cheap yellow card and the Boro goal came from his side and he couldn’t stop it.

Caicedo- 7/10- Best player on the pitch for Chelsea, but still not very impressive. Plays the ball like a pinball machine but always fights to get it back.

Enzo: 7/10- The main source of creativity for the team. Pochettino’s tactics put too much pressure on him and it was a strange decision to take him off. After that, Chelsea had no chance of scoring.

Gallagher: 3/10- Supposed to be Chelsea captain, but showed no leadership, no technical skill and no quality in his passes.

Sterling: 4/10- What did he do? What did he contribute in the 90 minutes he was on the pitch? It seemed like Pochettino was rewarding him for his performance against a mediocre Preston side.

Palmer: 2/10- The reason we are not going back to Stamford Bridge with a level score. Missing one opportunity is understandable, but missing two is unforgivable at this level.

Madueke: 5/10- A disappointing performance that might cost him his place this weekend. But even so, he was still one of Chelsea’s most threatening players. It felt like his substitution was another error from the manager.

Pochettino: 3/10- Terrible in game management, terrible substitutions and terrible attitude on the touchline. Turned to Broja and Mudryk out of desperation, who both did nothing and made us worse. If you are building a team around running, you are not going to achieve much.
