Romelu Lukaku Reveals Desired Club Amid Chelsea Exit, Open to Saudi Arabia Move

Chelsea might be saying goodbye to their forward Romelu Lukaku for £38 million soon.

Lukaku, who’s from Belgium, hasn’t played much for Chelsea since he came back from Inter Milan in 2021. The deal to bring him back was a big one, costing the club a record £97.5 million.

Not long after returning, Lukaku gave a fiery interview where he wasn’t happy with how the then-coach Thomas Tuchel was using him. After that, he was loaned out.

He went back to Inter Milan for a bit in 2022, helped them get to the Champions League final, but then made Inter Milan fans mad by talking to their rivals Juventus.

Juventus backed off because their fans didn’t like it, and Lukaku was stuck not knowing what to do next. He said no to moving to a team in Saudi Arabia and ended up at AS Roma, working with his old coach Jose Mourinho again.

Even though he scored 21 goals in 47 matches, AS Roma probably won’t keep him. Mourinho, now with Fenerbahce, says he won’t try to bring Lukaku over again.

Napoli, coached by Lukaku’s ex-boss at Inter, Antonio Conte, might want to buy him. Conte might need a new star if Victor Osimhen leaves, but Chelsea doesn’t seem too keen on Osimhen because of his high price tag.

Lukaku has changed his mind about playing in Saudi Arabia. He’s impressed with how much they’re investing in football and thinks more players will go there. He’s excited about the passion of the fans and sees big potential, even though the facilities could be better.

He’s also thinking about going back to his first team, Anderlecht, sooner than people expect. He left Belgium when he was just eighteen.

Meanwhile, Chelsea is looking for a new striker and might compete with Arsenal to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.
