The games Jackson will miss following Senegal’s progression at AFCON

Senegal secured their place in the 2023 African Cup of Nations knockout phase with a 3-1 win over Cameroon yesterday afternoon.

This means that Jackson, who plays for the blues, will stay longer at the tournament and miss more games for his club.

Jackson is not a regular starter for Senegal, which is unfortunate for Chelsea who need him for their crucial cup matches this week.

Senegal will play their round of 16 game on Monday 29th January if they keep the top spot in their group. The quarter-final could be on Saturday if they advance.

Jackson will be unavailable for Chelsea’s games against Middlesbrough (H), Aston Villa (H), and Liverpool (A) because of Senegal’s success.

Jackson will also sit out the Wolves game in early February if Senegal make it to the quarter-finals. He could miss even more games if they go further.
