Eddie Howe said that Newcastle won’t have Kieran Trippier for their important upcoming matches against Chelsea and Manchester City. Trippier hurt his calf in the last game against Wolves, and he’ll likely be out until after the international break.

Howe mentioned, ‘Kieran’s injury isn’t too serious, but it’s enough to keep him out for the next two games. We’re hoping he’ll be back after the international break, but we can’t be certain.’

Even though Trippier won’t play, he might still travel with the team to both matches because he wants to support them despite being injured. Howe praised Trippier’s leadership qualities.

Besides Trippier, Joelinton, Callum Wilson, and Lewis Hall won’t be available for Monday night’s game against Chelsea. Hall can’t play against his parent club due to loan rules. Chelsea will also miss Levi Colwill and Ben Chilwell.

This game could give Newcastle a chance to get back into the European qualification spots, depending on other match results.

Trippier will also miss the FA Cup quarter-final against Manchester City on March 16. So, Tino Livramento, a former Chelsea player, is likely to get a chance to show his skills.

Howe praised Livramento’s performance since joining Newcastle, saying, ‘He’s had a fantastic start here. Tino has done really well and showed his athleticism and technical ability, especially with his goal against Wolves. I’m really happy with how he’s settling in.’
