According to reports, Granit Xhaka is Xabi Alonso’s top target, and Arsenal won’t get in the way of their efforts to bring the Bayer Leverkusen star to the Emirates.

Xhaka has performed admirably for the Gunners this season and has been a crucial part of their quest for the Premier League title, winning the hearts of the supporters in the process.

The 30-year-old Swiss international will have less opportunities in north London the following season because Mikel Arteta wants to bolster his midfield.

According to The Sun, Alonso, the manager of Bayer Leverkusen, wants to bring Xhaka back to the Bundesliga, while Arsenal wants to use the deal as leverage to recruit Moussa Diaby.

Arsenal must fend off interest from Manchester United, Paris-Saint-Germain, and Newcastle United despite Diaby’s 14 goals and 11 assists this season.

The 23-year-old France international winger was a target for Arsenal during the January transfer window, and they will pursue him once more this summer.

Declan Rice of West Ham has received a lot of attention from Arsenal, who are also eager to add additional midfielders.

The England international has been identified as Arsenal’s top summer transfer target, and Arteta is said to be a “huge fan” who has already made preparations for how the player would fit into his system at the Emirates.

Despite interest from rival Premier League clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool, the Gunners are getting more optimistic in their ability to sign Rice.

Although West Ham understands that he would likely leave, they still want £120 million for one of their best players in recent memory.
